Funeral services for Brenda Kay (Woods) Smith, 64, of Claremore, OK, were held Friday, January 5, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Reverend Cletis Coe officiated, and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, OK. Casket bearers were Kaiden Smith, Kevin Chambers, Shaun Smith, Caleb Lentz, Steve Ellis, and Michael Coghill.

Brenda was born July 18, 1959, in Tulsa, OK, to Robert Roy Woods and Betty June (Ellis) Woods. She passed away December 23, 2023, in Tulsa, OK.

Brenda worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse from 1986-1995 until she obtained her licensure as a Registered Nurse. She then worked as an RN from 1995 until 2023 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Brenda loved to make various wreaths with her mother and sister, going to the casino where she won multiple times, talking for hours on the phone with her family and friends until she fell asleep, going to junk stores with her grandson, Kaiden and playing with her newest grandbaby, Kason. If you knew Brenda, you knew she always had to have her Diet Pepsi, She enjoyed calling and talking with her son, Shaun, every morning.

She is survived by her son, Shaun Smith and wife, Jamie; grandchildren, Kaiden, Kevin, Caleb, Makayla, and Kason; nieces, Belinda Howard, and Tonya Moore; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Betty Woods; sister, Sandra McClain; and niece, Sonya Hopper.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
