Billy Sipes, 93, of Owasso, OK, was born January 23, 1930, in Antlers, OK, to N.B. and Pearl Sipes. He passed away March 12, 2023, in Owasso, OK.

Bill graduated from Weleetka High School. After high school, he served in the United Stated Marine Corps and was stationed in Hawaii. In 1965, Bill married the love of his life, Jean Brown, and they were married for 52 years. Bill worked in the grocery business for most of his career. He managed stores for Wells Foods and Bud’s Thrifty Wise, where he rose to the level of General Manager over the entire chain. Bill was very good at what he did and retired in 1992. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and watching college football. He loved OU football and witnessed the birth of “Sooner Magic”. Bill was also an amazing mechanic, often tinkering in the garage, sharpening knives, making spinner baits, wrapping fishing rods or looking up how things were made and how to make them better or improve the process. He enjoyed witty comments and jokes to make people laugh, and if you told him a joke, he would remember a joke to return the laugh. Bill loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his children, Mike, Gary, and Annette, and their children, from his first marriage. From his marriage to Jean, he is survived by sons, Floyd and Brett; daughter, Marlene; and their children and grandchildren. Floyd’s children are Zachary and Macie. Marlene’s children are Alicia, Ross, and Keith. Brett’s children are Kaitlin, William, Cassandra, and Abigail.

He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Linda.

Alicia and her husband, Josh and son, Dakota, cared for Bill in their home for many years.

Bill accepted Jesus Christ into his heart, and we can rest knowing he is whole and healed in heaven with his love, Jean, extended family, and the Lord.

His legacy lives on through his family as they will all celebrate the man, he was to them.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
