Memorial services for Billy Joe Edgar Smith, 59, of Tulsa, OK, were held Monday, December 8, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Chuck Burton officiated. Honorary Casket bearers were Dustin W. Smith, Josh Heinze, Anthony McIntire, Malvin Poor, Steven L. Heinze, and Andrew Stevenson.

Billy was born July 31, 1966, in Tulsa, OK, to Billy Simon Smith and Aline (Scott) Smith. He passed away November 22, 2025, in Tulsa, OK.

Billy enjoyed “junking” just as much as his dad did. He enjoyed going to the casino and going fishing and camping. Our brother was a kind, compassionate and loving person. If there was one person that needed anything, Billy would break his back to get it or do it for them. He had three dogs and they were his babies. Those dogs were his world when he was sick; they would lay on him and beside him to the point that when he went to the hospital, Marilyn was picking the fleas off of him like a mother gorilla does her baby! But they were his babies. Our dad, papa, brother, uncle and friend will be dearly missed by all!

Rest in peace, Billy Joe, and catch a big ol’ fish with mom and dad. Shine on the streets of gold, Bubba!

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; son, Lynsdey Ray Smith and wife, Dolly Carter of Tulsa; grandchildren, Ray Jr., Kevin Wayne, and Cody Carter; sisters, Marilyn Stevenson of Skiatook, Elenah Wilkins and husband, Mike of Osage, Linda Heinze and husband, Richard of Salina, and Angela Baker of Claremore; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Aline Smith; paternal grandparents, Joe and Jewel Smith; maternal grandparents, Edgar and Beatrice Scott; and nephew, Kenny Wells.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
