Betty Delores (Lang) Dick

Funeral services for Betty Delores (Lang) Dick, 90, of Sperry, OK, were held Friday, July 23, 2021, at North Point United Pentecostal Church in Sperry, OK. Reverend Wesley Witcher officiated, and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Seth Lang, Dustin Lang, Larry Dean Lang, Jason Dick, Austin Lang and Tim Pece. Honorary Casket bearers were Chuck Bradley, Larry Booker and Gary Howard, Sr.

Betty was born October 1, 1930, in Tulsa, OK, to Orville William and Katheryn (Turley) Bryant. She passed away July 21, 2021, peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family in Tulsa, OK.

Betty married Virgil Lang in December of 1947. They were blessed with 7 children, Delores, Cathy, Brenda, Larry, Mike, Rebecca and Virgil, Jr. While raising her children, Betty began her long career at Zebco. Betty filled many positions during her employment and retired in 1994 after 33 years. In October of 1993, Betty married her sweetheart, John Evan Dick, gaining three new children and their families: Terry and wife, Karen, Cindy, and Linda and husband, Marvin. Betty and John were married for 20 years, up to his passing in 2014.

Betty’s family was not limited to those born into the Bryant/Lang clan. She was a Momma and a Granny to anyone who knew her. If you asked her her name, she’d usually answer “Betty, but just call me granny”. There is no way to list or count all those who will be affected by her passing.

Though we are all saddened at her passing, we are thankful she is at peace and resting with her beloved family in the hands of Jesus, the one for whom she truly lived her life. Thank you for joining us to celebrate the life of this amazing woman.

She is survived by her children, Delores Howard and husband, Gary, Brenda Booker and husband, Larry, Larry Lang, Mike Lang and wife Cathy, Rebecca Bradley and husband, Chuck, and Virgil Lang and wife, Sandy; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sister, Deanna Goekler and husband, Jim; sister-in-law, Donna Bryant; and many other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Virgil Lang and John Dick; daughter, Cathy Nix; grandchildren, Gary Howard Jr., Bethany McDonald, and Stephanie Pece; parents, Orville & Katheryn Bryant; and siblings, Janie Bryant, Marjorie Dick, Orville “Junior” Bryant, Kenneth Bryant, Billy Bryant and Judy Briggs.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
