Betty Sue (Embrey) Forbes

Funeral services for Betty Sue (Embrey) Forbes, 80, of Skiatook, OK, were held Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Tri County Baptist Church in Skiatook, OK. Reverend Lee Morgans officiated, and burial was in Hillside Mission Cemetery in Skiatook, OK. Casket bearers were Bobby Embrey, Brad Forbes, Rick Shipley, Tyler Forbes, Danny Embrey, and Anthony Davis. Honorary Casket bearers were Ronny Forbes and Richard Forbes.

Betty, lovingly known by family and friends as Sue, was born May 27, 1943, in Tulsa, OK, to Marvin Able Clark “A.C.” Embrey and Gladys Stella Marie (Davis) Embrey. She passed away January 16, 2024, in Tulsa, OK.

Sue was a stay-at-home mom taking care of her two boys and her home. She was also a minister who traveled all over the world, witnessing to many and winning souls for Jesus; she also led the women’s ministries, Women Alive, and Spirit Fire.

She is survived by her son, Shawn Forbes and wife, Sondi; grandsons, Kelly Forbes, and Tyler Forbes; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bartley Forbes; son, Todd Forbes; parents, A.C. and Gladys Embrey; brother, Bob Embrey and wife, Lovena.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
