Memorial services for Betty Jean Katherine (Anderson) Lawson, 91, of Sapulpa, OK, were held Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Canyon Road Baptist Church in Sapulpa, OK. Pastor Mike Peter officiated, and burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK.

Betty was born July 17, 1931, in Collinsville, OK, to Joseph J. Anderson and Ruby Irene (Russell) Anderson. She passed away June 30, 2023, in Sapulpa, OK.

Betty attended Webster High School in Tulsa. When she married, Betty lived in various cities and states, but had lived in Sapulpa for the last 40 plus years, until her passing. In the early years, Betty sold jewelry and she and her husband also owned a Coney Island restaurant. After their boys were raised, Betty became a real estate agent and was for several years until her retirement. Upon retiring, she enjoyed being a housewife and grandma. Over the years, Betty and her family attended many churches in the Tulsa area but have been at Canyon Road Baptist Church for the last several years, where she was a ladies’ Sunday School teacher, prayer warrior as well as, a missionary for her church in Russia. Betty was an avid reader, loved to laugh, and play all kinds of games, especially SkipBo. Betty was also a proud member of the Choctaw Nation

She is survived by her son, Earl Lawson and wife, Jo Ann; daughter-in-law, Gerry Lawson; grandchildren, Jennifer Lawson and Sheryl Oxley, Michael Lawson and wife, Gina, Kathy Nunn and husband, Neil, Michelle Blagrave, and husband, Troy, Amanda Plowman and husband, Daniel, and Tracy Wilde and husband, Ted; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Farley; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lawson; son, Greg Lawson; parents, Joe and Ruby Anderson; brother, Bobby Anderson; and sister, Joan Bilby.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
