Colleen Parker

March 17, 1925 ~ March 10, 2018 (age 92)

Funeral services for Colleen (Lawrence) Parker, 92, of Tulsa, were held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Church of Christ in Sperry, OK. Reverend Lucian Farrar, Jr. officiated and burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK. Casket bearers were Jake Parker, Tom Fees, Jared Parker, Larry Barnes, Dustin Maxwell and Keith Parker. Honorary casket bearers were Robert Parker, Dale Brown, Roger Campbell, Billy Rogers, and Tom Coyle.

Colleen was born March 17, 1925 in McCurtain, OK to Samuel and Eva (Davis) Lawrence. She passed away March 10, 2018 in Tulsa, OK.

Colleen married Bill December 12, 1945 in Fort Smith, AR and lived together for 73 years. They lived in several states before settling in Tulsa and starting a family. Colleen was a member of the Church of Christ in Sperry for many years and enjoyed teaching the Sunday School class. She worked for Douglas Aircraft during WWII and was a part time gift wrapper for Miss Jackson’s. Colleen enjoyed raising her son and watching her grandchildren play. She loved spending time with all of her family and friends. Colleen enjoyed making quilts in her spare time, and watching Keith and Bill Rope calves and attend rodeos. Colleen also enjoyed being a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Bill Parker of Tulsa; son Keith Parker and wife Patti of Sperry; grandchildren, Jake Parker and wife Melissa of Sperry, Jessie Maxwell and husband Dustin of Sperry, Jakki Salyer of Sperry; and Jared parker and wife Michelle of Wellsville, KS; great-grandchildren, Jayci Parker and Blakely Parker, Kylee Maxwell and Kennedy Maxwell and Stoan Salyer; sisters-in-law, Helen White of  Tulsa and Betty Carter of Bryan, TX; brother-in-law, Robert Parker and wife Carol; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Joyce Parker; sisters, Loretha Brown, Irene Smith, Geneva Rogers and Jewel Lawrence; brother, Raymond Lawrence; and parents, Sam and Eva Lawrence.
