Funeral services for Anthony Glen Schmitz, 35, of Sand Springs, were held Friday, August 11, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Skiatook, OK. Reverend Heath Tucker officiated. Casket bearers were Cole Schmitz, Matthew Schmitz, Nolan Weber, Jason Webb, Daniel Gregory and Stephen Gregory.

Anthony was born April 6, 1982 in Holton, KS to Kevin and Sue (Rice) Schmitz. He left us peacefully at home on August 4, 2017 in Sand Springs, OK.

Anthony graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 2000 and continued on to receive his Associates of Science in Nursing from Tulsa Community College in 2011 and was Valedictorian of his nursing class. He was a Registered Nurse for six years and was a Charge Nurse at Select Specialty Hospital in Tulsa. Anthony married Jennifer Garrett on March 2, 2015. Anthony was a member of the Skiatook First Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and kids, going fishing, riding bikes, and playing and building things with his kids. He also enjoyed visiting his parents, brother and sister in Kansas, and playing with his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Schmitz; children, Hayden and Koda; sister, Ashley Weber and husband Nolan of Holton, KS; brother, Cole Schmitz of Netawaka, KS; parents, Sue and Kevin Schmitz of Netawaka, KS; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; nieces, Gwenivive Weber and Avery Schmitz; nephews, Thaddeus Weber and Ace Schmitz; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents, Francis and Rita Schmitz; maternal grandparents, Fred and Jan Rice, and Indian and Nancy Edmond.
