Shirley Alice (Martens) Chace, 86, of Collinsville, OK was born June 14, 1931 (Flag Day) in Palmyra, NY to Frank John and Alice Eugenia (Gress) Martens. She passed away October 25, 2017 in Collinsville, OK.

She lived most of her life in Palmyra, NY. She worked at Mobile Chemical in Macedon, NY until her retirement and then moved to Las Vegas with her second husband, James D. Chace. After approximately five years, Shirley then moved to Bloomington, IN where she lived close to her son, Richard. In 2012 she then moved to Sand Springs, OK to be close to some of her other children. Shirley loved reading, playing the penny slots, watching tennis, and playing bingo, as well as enjoying the company of many friends and family. She will be remembered fondly. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.

She is survived by her children, Janice Turner and husband Anthony, Victoria Webb and husband Dale, Elizabeth DeRycke and husband Geno, Frank Stuart Hammond, and Richard Hammond and wife Ann; grandchildren, Scott DeRycke, Samantha Ensell and husband Timothy, Jennifer Rayno, Morgan Webb, Matthew DeRycke and wife Ashton, Alex Webb, Matthew Lockridge, Maxine Webb, Elijah Hammond, Sarah Hammond, Rebecca Hammond, Seth Hammond, Grace Hammond, and Emma Hammond; great-grandchildren; Alexander Ensell, Ellison DeRycke, Alice Ensell, Sawyer DeRycke and Aiden Ensell, as well as another one on the way; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Chace; brothers and sisters; Grace Martens, Gladys Green, Raymond Martens, and David Martens; and parents, Frank and Alice Martens.

Special thanks to North County Nursing Home and Cura Hospice for the love and care given to our mother during the last year. Donations in her memory can be made to North County Nursing Home residents and will be announced at a later time.

Calling hours when family and friends can gather will be announced at a later time and will be held at McQuire-Hargrave & Murphy Funeral Home, 123 East Jackson Street, Palmyra, NY (www.murphyfuneralservices.com). Internment in the Palmyra Cemetery will follow.
